You can’t be from Lewistown if you haven’t been to Lowe’s. Located near Walmart behind Dunkin’ Donuts, Lowe’s is the central hub for all of your contracting needs. Known primarily for Valspar, Lowe’s also carries the exclusive HGTV Home® by Sherwin-Williams collection.

Another well-known favorite is good old Sherwin-Williams. Located across from Snappy’s and Taco Bello on 522, this store sits beside Tractor and Supply Co. on the main road before you reach the Industrial Park. They feature a nationally recognized product and have in-store associates ready to help guide you in your decision.

Take some of the guess work out of whether or not a color is right for you by using the ColorSnap® Visualizer tool on their website. Play around with the template photos or upload your own to see the paint colors in daytime and evening lighting.

If you are as inspired as we are to support local, then you will want to pay this quaint gem a visit. Formerly a part of the oldest hardware store in Mifflin County, Brindel’s Hardware, The Paint Shop is now settled in to its new location behind the Stonefly Café in Reedsville.

They offer big-name, Benjamin Moore paint colors without having to travel the mountain. With years of experience, owner Jewel Brindel has a knack for paint pallets and a heart for customer service.

The Home Depot

If you are willing to brave Seven Mountains, you will find The Home Depot in State College, conveniently located off Exit 69 off of US-322 W. Choose from a wide selection of popular Home Depot paint, including Behr paint.

The Home Depot sets itself apart from all other paint stores with what just may be the greatest innovation the paint-sampling world has seen. They offer Peel and Stick Paint Sample Kits that allow you to see your top paint choices on the wall without having to paint a test area or hold up those tiny sample strip squares that are nowhere near big enough to envision the color on the whole wall. The sample stickers are 6 ½ in. x 6 ½” in. and are easily moveable and removable. If you still want to go for it and paint a sample section on the wall, they also offer 8 oz. sample cans.
